What Happens at Your Appointment

Come prepared. Clean, detangled, completely dry hair — washed the day before, blow-dried if you can. Eat first, and bring something to occupy you.

On arrival. Your braider confirms the size, the length and the final price with you before anything starts.

During. Twists should not hurt. Say so immediately if a section pulls — tension can be adjusted while she works, not afterwards.

• Satin bonnet at night. Less critical than on smooth twists, still the single best habit for any install.
